Bharav
This artwork embodies the essence of the well shaft at Baramoti chi Vihar, a testament to the ingenuity and strategic foresight of Sahu Maharaj. Constructed as a clandestine hub for military discussions, this well harbors hidden tunnels for escape during times of peril. Within its depths, icons of the legendary Liger—symbolizing the fusion of lion and tiger, epitomizing the strength of the Maratha empire—are intricately ingrained. Fashioned entirely from black basalt stone, forged by ancient volcanic eruptions eons ago, this stepwell stands as a silent witness to the passage of time. Constructed over five years between 1719 and 1724, this architectural marvel celebrates its 300th anniversary, a testament to enduring craftsmanship and historical significance.
